Plateau Professionals is actively seeking new members based on the criteria and stipulations outlined below. New members can attend meetings as guests in order to introduce themselves and their services and learn more about the organizations principles and mission.

Our guidelines and primary focus are outlined below:

1. We allow only one member from each business profession to be a member of Plateau Professionals. To keep the integrity of the leads exchange process, we ask that you only belong to Plateau Professionals as your one leads referral group.

2. Plateau Professionals is a business networking group. We allow only one representative from each profession to become a member. Our purpose is to give other members more business through leads and referrals. The concept is simple. I help you build your business and you help me build mine.

3. Being a member of Plateau Professionals is like having 20 additional salespeople! Members carry a business card file with everyone's business cards in it. When they meet or speak with clients, friends, or business associates who mention a need represented by our group, that member can provide a referral to meet the need.

4. "Word of mouth' is the most cost-effective form of advertising possible. Plateau Professionals provides a structured environment for the development and exchange of quality, qualified business referrals.

5. We draw from a large network beyond our members. Each member knows dozens of people, who in turn know dozens of other people. Through this "extended network" come most of the business referrals that are given each week.

6. We teach our members that networking is like farming, not hunting. It is about developing relationships that result in referrals for each other.

7. Increasing and maintaining your word of mouth-based business depends on members educating each other about what they do and what kinds of referrals they want.

8. As business professionals, we are looking for business that would otherwise go elsewhere. How many people in this area are doing what you do? You have an edge in that none of them will be able to join Plateau Professionals. This gives you an edge as your fellow members work to build your business through referrals.
